I am glad you are here.

As we kick off, please know that I welcome your comments and thoughts. I may not respond to everything, but I welcome your thoughts.

Next, this blog should not be construed for legal advice. Although I am a lawyer and wealth protection consultant, the information provided here should not be relied upon for legal advice as it is general in nature. Any and all strategies we would recommend to our clients families are based on many personal conversations and study of personal circumstances.

As I start this process, please note I will not always discuss legal and tax strategies. In fact, we should define WEALTH now.

Wealth - first, of course, it is our finances. The value of our real estate, investment portfolios, retirement plans, insurance policies, annuities, bonds, savings accounts, CDs, etc. It is also the value of our business, if we own one, or our ideas (also known as intellectual capital).

Second, Wealth is our personal life. Our spouses, children, parents, siblings, etc. It is also our values and charitable contributions. In fact, in the whole scheme of things, our personal wealth has a much greater impact on our community that our financial wealth, unless your personal wealth is so great it can change whole continents (see Bill & Melinda Gates). If our children are valuable members of society, our personal wealth can affect a broad segment of society, and can be passed on through generations. Who could argue with the long lasting personal wealth distribution of Billy Graham?

Finally, Wealth can be defined by our faith. We will call this spiritual wealth. Of course, this wealth can be shared unconditionally and without limitation. It cannot be restricted by society (though they can try) nor by government.

As you can see, Wealth is broad. As we opine, over time, we will discuss many different techniques to preserve your financial wealth, both during your life and at your death.

We will also discuss ways for you to preserve your personal Wealth. How to protect your family; pass along your values; teach philanthropy; and leave a legacy beyond your money. Isn't this as important as your money.

As to your spiritual Wealth, we will discuss these things as well. As a follower of Jesus Christ, I will share my faith journey and the ways God has worked in my life and in the lives of my family and friends. Of course, for those of you who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, I welcome your questions and will certainly attempt to answer your doubts with thoughtful and respectful responses.

Thanks for reading. I hope this journey enlightens us together.

Andrew
